Seekbar
Feb 04, 2020
Hi all,
Has anyone else had issues with IE11 not letting them drag the seekbar? It's been fine previously, but over the last week, we've found that we can't now drag the seekbar on a video slide. Fair enough, it may be that it's a good thing that users are made to see the whole video, but, they can't scroll backwards either... viewing the same file in Chrome, or in Articulate Review, both work perfectly, so it does seem to me to an IE11 issue.
Any advice appreciated. Thanks.
Paul

Hi Paul,
Our team is looking into a new issue where the seekbar and other player controls are not working as expected when viewing the course in Internet Explorer 11.
Do you have the seekbar disabled or another custom player setting for the first slide of your course?
The workaround listed at this time is to enable the seekbar on all slides and/or use default player settings for the entire course.
Seekbar for the course is disabled, as there's a test, and it's on the video slide only as a custom setting. Would you know which other controls are failing please? We are getting some strange unexpected behaviours that we can't explain... seekbar being one... results feeding into elms odly another. (Using Chrome, get EVERY question from 5 wrong, retake the quiz and get them all right, and the result is fed through to the eLMS as a fail... yet in IE11, it is fed through as a pass) some old errors to do with zoom regions displacing buttons and so on...
Hi Paul,
It'd be best if we can take a look at your .story file to see what is going on with your project.
I've opened a support case on your behalf so that you can work 1:1 with one of our support engineers. I've already sent an e-mail to you to get the ball rolling.
I have same issue.. :( Any updates on how to fix this? The workaround suggested unfortunately is not an option for our course design.
Good morning, Anna!
I'm sorry I don't have an update to share on this issue as of yet, but we'll keep this discussion posted on all developments.
As we continue to investigate, would you be willing to share your file with us? We can have a thorough look at your setup to explore more tailored support around your design. You can privately share the course with us right here!
I have the same issue and it is not just happening in IE. Also happening in Chrome, preview and review. Please can you let us know when you have sent out a new update. My client is waiting for the course to be published.
Hi Jack,
I responded to your other post here. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask in that discussion to keep things simple. Thanks!
Same issue for me. The play/pause button in the control works, BUT the seekbar looks disabled.
Thanks for chiming in to let us know as well, Ricardo. You should now be subscribed to any updates we pop in and share.
Hi everybody!
I'm excited to share that the hotfix Leslie mentioned is ready! It addresses the issue where learners couldn't click or drag the seekbar on the built-in video controls.
You can explore the release notes here, and download the latest Storyline 360 update with these steps. Thanks for bringing it up!
Hi Katie, that's good news. Do I assume that we will need to republish the files we've had problems with? I guess so?...
You are correct, Paul.
Hi Leslie, We've downloaded the update today, and put a new module up to Review 360. Seekbar does not drag in IE11, but works using Chrome. :-(

Greetings, Paul!
So sorry for the confusion. It looks like your experience matches a similar bug that only affects IE11.
We're prioritizing a fix for this scenario as well, so I'll be back with an update as soon as it's live. Stay tuned!
Hi everyone!
Good news! We just released Update 38 (Build 3.38.21779.0) for Storyline 360 which includes the fix for this bug.
In previous versions, you saw that toggling the Play/Pause button and scrubbing the seekbar wasn't working in Internet Explorer if your previous slide does have seekbar disabled. Fortunately, that's been fixed in Update 38.
To start using the newest version, you'll want to update your Articulate 360 Desktop App. Head over here to see the other bug fixes and features included in this update.
