Sending score and module completion to LMS

Nov 12, 2020

Hello. We are publishing storyline 360 quiz files in 2004 in our LMS. I set up the quiz file as shown in the attached image. Individual question responses are sent to the LMS as soon as the results page is reached. However, the score and module completion are not sent to the LMS until one of the pop up windows in the MLS is closed as shown in the attached file.

Do you know what the problem might be? The score and module completion should be sent to the MLS once the result slide is reached.

Thanks!

Hi Veronica,

Thank you for reaching out!

A couple of questions for you on this:

  • May I ask which LMS you are using?
  • Have you had a chance to see if the same snag appears in SCORM Cloud

Testing the course in SCORM Cloud helps determine if there is a snag on the LMS side or if it is happening in the course files. If you can share your file with us, we are more than happy to help with testing! You can use this secure upload link to share the course, and we'll be sure to share our findings with you!

Hi, we are still dealing with this issue. We used Saba as our LMS. When I sent the file to storyline support, they said the issue might be with our LMS because the file worked well (attached is the email I received).

However, Saba support indicated that "the exit behavior is controlled by the SCORM 2004 design". The fact that learners need to close the window in order to get the completion recorded, is confusing for learners. In the 1.2 version as long as learners reach the results slide and click the exit button on the slide, the completion is recorded. 1.2 does not required an extra step (i.e., closing the window).

So far we have used a workaround that allows us to publish in 1.2 with the questions showing on the report but this will stop working soon when we update to a later version of storyline since the workaround was designed for an older version of storyline.

Is there a way to make SCORM 2004 report to the LMS in a similar way than 1.2 reports to the LMS?

Thanks,

Vero
