SL2 - Interactive will not play after publish

I've built several fairly complex interactives like the one in question which all published and played without incident. I have tried publishing this one to both Web, and LMS. The publish proceeds without incident. I get a box congratulating me on a successful publish. I select view Project and get this:

An error has occured:

Error - unable to acquire LMS API, content may not play properly and results may not be recorded. Please contact technical support.

Press 'OK' to view debug information to send to technical support.

OK opens a window with a bunch of debug stuff and the word error appearing here and there.  Going to the output folder I try to play story_html5, which has worked on other projects, attempting in Firefox, in Explorer, in Chrome. Nothing. The little wheel spins for minutes till i close the window. The published version will not play.

I downloaded SL2 and installed but no change. I have changed no settings and need to get this interactive out the door. What's wrong here? I could use some help with this, thanks.

Hey, Phil. I'm glad you reached out for help here!  When you try and view a published course on your local hard drive, you'll encounter security restrictions that can cause features of your content to fail.

Instead of clicking the "View Project" button, click the "Zip" button. Save the zip file to your desktop, then...

  • Upload it to Tempshare, if it was published for Web
  • Upload it to SCORM Cloud, it it was published for LMS
