Storyline freezing at the end of a retaken quiz

Hi

Hope someone can help

At the moment within one of our courses there is an end of course quiz. We have set it that if the user fails the quiz they have to retake it. Yet when testing we are finding that the screen will freeze at the end of the retake and not display whether the user has passed or failed (again).

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Rachel!

I'm glad you reached out to us about this. We spotted an issue in Storyline 360, Update 23, where the published output freezes when retrying a quiz from a question bank. We found this happens in Chrome, but not in any other browser. Does that match what you're seeing?

If so, you can work around this bug by temporarily rolling back to Update 22Here's how! Sorry for the headaches, and we'll let you know as soon as we get this resolved!

Remember that pesky issue where a course could freeze or lock up when retrying a quiz from a question bank? Specifically, when viewing the content on Chrome?

Thanks for reaching out, and I'm so sorry you're running into a roadblock on the latest update. I'd love to troubleshoot further!

First, a quick recap of the bug referenced earlier in this discussion:

  • Discovered in Storyline 360, Update 23 and 24. This affected courses published between 12/18/18 and 2/19/19
  • Quiz questions are in a question bank
  • The quiz would freeze on the last slide when learners retried the quiz after failing once in only Chrome

For next steps, would you mind sharing an affected .story file with us here? We'll verify whether the same bug is affecting your file, or if something else is causing the issue in Chrome and IE11. We'll let you know our findings, and delete the file after!

Hi Katie,

we found out that it was a problem with scorm 1.2 that our customer is still using. We have now set all slides to "Reset to initial state" so that the small buffer used by 1.2 is not further overloaded.
The problem only occurred when a user left the training during the quiz. The training was automatically set to 0 when reentering. This is now fixed with the new setting.
