in my last project I see a strange look of some text forms. Looking good in edit view and in pre-view but different in published version. Example is attached.
Better and easier to share a Storyline cause like this debugging is only a guessing game.
That being said...do check your textfields. Could be that not all are the same formatting. Center aligned versus left aligned...or something like that.
Are you creating the alignment with tabs, and not spaces? Are you starting the next line with Return, and not spaces? It's hard to know what is causing the problem.
If you can post the .story file (or even just this slide), someone can help you.
The Story is in German. It shows a steam boiler system. Press Start (3 times) to proceed. With + and - you can add or distract 1000 kW power. The Text mentioned is on the base layer.
As a work around I may separate the Text and the references in to forms.
Thanks for sharing your file! I published it to Review 360 on Storyline 360 Update 48 and didn't notice any strange behavior with the text boxes on the base layer.
Can you share how you're publishing your course?
Are you viewing it locally or in the intended environment?
I've published the course to SCORM Cloud for testing, Heinz.
Following the steps you shared above with pushing Start 3x and then using the + and - signs, I am still unable to see an issue different than when I preview your course.
I appreciate your help in troubleshooting this issue with us! This is what I'm seeing on my end. Link
I noticed when intially launching the course the window needed to be resized to see the entire slide. This can be changed in the launch behavior in SCORM cloud and other Learning Management Systems. If you are referring to something else, would you mind sharing a screen recording with us?
thank you for your support. Unfortunately it doesn't really help me. I still see the texts moving to the left when published. I've added red line to show this behaviour. Please see in Review 360: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/bbd5fb6f-7761-43d5-9010-b75595a77c2b/review. From my point of view it can not be an issue of the screen sizing as it appears even in the middle of the side. Anyhow I've tested all available screen size options.
Strange! I've tested several browser. MS Edge and Google Chrome are showing it properly like you have it. Only Firefox (which is my preferred browser) provides the disarranged testes. I'll give this information to your service engineer. OK?
Hi, I have not experienced exactly this problem, but a similar one. We found that some fonts gave different character spacing inside the same text box. I cannot exactly remember what font, but ended up switching to a True Type font (is that the right expression?).
Thank you for your advise. Initially we used Open Sans (body). I've changed to our company font (Bosch Office Sans), to Calibri, Arial and Centuty Gothic but the result is still the same. Sorry!
Maybe a silly question, but have you typed the text "manually" into the text box or copied it from e.g. Word? I have seen that copying some formatted text may lead to wrongly adjusted left alignment. Specially if I paste in text that has previously been formatted as bullet list.
it was written letter by letter. This is an example. Fits a text then a space / tab to bring the numbers in line (whichdir not work) then a reference. I tried to type the reference (lines eins and zwei) and to insert (lines drei and vier). The result is that line zwei is moved to the left. The others stay in line.
eins %dPNges% kW zwei %dDeltaTN% °C
drei %dPNges% kW vier %dDeltaTN% °C
I will place numbers and texts in different textboxes to be on the safe side.

Cross your heart. Have you really seen the appendix?
What appendix? Its only 1 slide :-)

Having seen the .pptx file, I believe you.

Hi,
I've added some information to power point.
Thank you!

Here is my published output.
Hello Leslie,
thank you for your note. In the view you've shared I see the same issue as I have on mine. E.g. on the right the text is running out of screen.

Hello Heinz!
This is what I'm seeing when opening the Review link. If this is different then your view, we'll need to have our Support Engineers take a look so that we can determine if this is a software bug or not. Please use this link to connect with a Support Engineer.

Hello Heinz,
Great news! We just released another update for Articulate 360 and included a few important fixes you'll see in the release notes.
The item you'll be interested in is:
Fixed: Combining text and variables references in the same object could cause spacing or alignment issues in the published output.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Storyline 360. Details here.
