Texts extending in time when aligning to cue points

Jul 21, 2020

Hi all,

Anyone know how to prevent this?  When I add a text to a cue point. The end of the text timeline would extend outward.  This is a waste of unneeded timeline adjustments and production time.

TIA

Hi Ted,

Thanks for providing that video of what you're experiencing. It was really helpful.

I can confirm it's a bug we have recorded where the timeline extends when the Align to Playhead or Align to Cue Point action is used, and the object has the Show until End option enabled.

If you remove the Show until End option and apply the action, then the timeline stays as expected. This gif shows that action:

I know there are additional steps involved, but this may help from having to scroll forward and re-adjust your entire timeline.

Hi Ted!

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 66, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the fixes we’ve included is the fix for:

When "Show until the end" is enabled, using "Align to playhead" or "Align to Cue Point" for an object extends the length of the timeline.

To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!
