Where to find closed caption when export is mp4 video?

Feb 24, 2020

Hi,

I produced a video in Articulate 360/Storyline with closed captions: mp4 file.

When I upload it to our video server the video is fine, but no captions are shown.

Where are those caption files the video player should use? What can I upload to the video streaming server? Do I have to do something with the vtt-files?

Perhaps someone did this before and can help. Our users would like to read those captions (accessible) instead of listening to audio.

Regards

Andrea

Hello Andrea,

Thanks for contacting us to share what you are experiencing when publishing your course to video.

This is not a feature at this time, but one we are tracking. I wanted to share some information about how we manage these feature requests as that may be helpful.

I've attached this conversation to the report so that we can provide updates here when we can.

Hi Andrea,

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 73, we’ve included important fixes and new features!

One new feature we’ve included:

Boost video accessibility by including closed captions when publishing projects as MP4 video files.

To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!
