I've noticed that when naming/renaming variables in SL360, the zero on the numpad doesn't work. The zero in the top row works for variable names, and the numpad zero works outside naming variables.
I'm running Windows 10 and Storyline 360 (v3.43.22859.0). The numpad zero works within the pop-up window you get if you create a new variable (or double-click on an existing one). If I try to rename from the list of variables (i.e. type in the name field in the table, circled in the image) that's when it stops working.
I wish I had a better understanding of the snag because I do not see the same behavior. I've tried to recreate this on my end, and I can use the 0 on the Numpad when naming variables. Have you run into this same issue with other projects or just this one?
It would be best if we could take a look at the project to offer specific advice! Do you mind privately uploading your file to our Support Engineers? Here's a secure upload link. We'll make sure to delete
It's not project specific. I just created a new project and added a variable (using the default name, "Variable1"). Then (from the screen like the one in the image above) tried to insert a zero into the name (to change it to "Variable01"). Nothing happens with the numpad zero, but the top row zero works.
I'm afraid I can't seem to share a file. I think there's something being blocked by IT's security software. I tried for several hours on a ticket I'd raised a while back but nothing worked.
It's really strange, because the zero works in the variable dialog box (where you can set name, type, and default value), but not if you try to rename from the list of variables.
I appreciate you going through the update steps, and I'm sorry to hear that the problem remains.
We want to help find a fix where our Engineers can troubleshoot in real-time while you try to rename a variable. To get the ball rolling,I've started a priority Teams case so we can communicate directly.
just a simple message to confirm the bug, using v3.46.23620.0.
I can't type the "0" char in my variable names, either using numpad or upper line of the keyboard but I can paste it when copying it from notepad for example.

Hi Simon,
Thanks for reaching out and sharing what you are experiencing while working in Storyline.
I'm able to create and re-name variables using either the number pad or the numbers at the top of the keyboard.
I'd like to be sure that I am looking at this correctly.

Hello Simon,
Thanks for all those helpful clues. With them in mind, I've got a few more ideas to try:
Let me know if that makes a difference!
Hi,
I've updated to 45 and it's still happening. So, not version-specific.
Good morning, Simon!

Hi all,
just a simple message to confirm the bug, using v3.46.23620.0.
I can't type the "0" char in my variable names, either using numpad or upper line of the keyboard but I can paste it when copying it from notepad for example.
in addition, I can use/type keyboard's "0" when creating a variable, it's only when editing for modification that the key strike isn't recognised.
