Not sure what tools you may have but another trick is to do a video where you have all 16 or more maps and then cut the video into segments where you do the push up from map 1 to map 2.
Before you go too far I would note that Storyline doesn't offer reverse transitions. In practice this means that you can only set a single push direction per slide, so if for example you wanted to go back to a slide, the push transition would not match the direction from which you are entering. Hope that makes sense.
For what it's worth I would just see how fast a transition I felt I could get away with and see if I could live with the results. That would be the quickest way to keep your project moving.

Not an ideal workaround but if you reduce the transition duration to at the most 1.5 seconds the line is barely noticable.
Another method is to make your background image twice the height then use a motion path animation to push it up.
?
could you send a sample? I do not really understand how to do ....
cheers and thank you$

Here is a quick one I just did.
thank you, thats great
But remember that this is just a 2 screen sample - the idea is to have a much greater map .... talking about 16 x 16 screens ... (and maybe more ...)
cheers

yes, of course this makes sense - i just wan t to use it "one way" there is no possibility to go back to previous slide --- only forward.
cheers

Great.
