I was just talking to a fellow developer and we discussed caption boxes for slides with voice-overs. The default Notes pane might not be what you want to use as it doesn't fit the design you'd want as naturally.
So I quickly set up this example and decided to share it all of you.

There is actually an easier way to create the on/off functionality but I couldn't resist creating a toggle button as it is somewhat technical to pull off and I keep forgetting how to do it :)
The simple version would have a hotspot over the icon on the base layer with a trigger to show the captions layer. On the captions layer I'd put a hotspot over the icon that hides the caption layer... easy peasy.
