Closed captions not working
Is anyone else experiencing closed captions not working in SL 360?
I have my captions option checked in player, added CC for my audio but they just don't appear on the slide. I've added plenty of CC before so it's annoying it's not working anymore.
Here's a test file if anyone would like to take a look.
Hi, everyone!
I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 73, we’ve included important fixes and new features!
One new feature we’ve included:
Boost video accessibility by including closed captions when publishing projects as MP4 video files.
To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let me know if you need additional help!

I've encountered a CC issue as well. It seems like a slight variation on the theme. In my case, the captions do appear, but the first block of captions (as seen in the captions editor) will be missing. So far, it affects 4 of 10 slides I've checked in a 95-slide project.
Someone in another thread (from 4 years ago) had a similar problem and said bumping the audio start point a 1/4 second down the timeline resolved the issue. In my case, that would create a lot of timing issues, since I have text flying in to accompany the speakers and V/O.
I'm going to try inserting a dummy first element with either no content at all, if that's possible, or a space, or, if that fails, an ellipsis. Wish me luck. I'll report back.
I'll note that I'm running the latest version of Storyline 360 (patched it yesterday), and that the error is visible both in preview and in Review 360.

Splitting the initial CC block into two and adding "..." (blanks weren't possible) as the content of the first caption block fixed the problem. The "..." caption doesn't appear, but all those following it do. It worked in Preview. I haven't published to Review 360 yet, but I suspect it'll work there, too.

I submitted this issue as a support ticket. It's still being reviewed, but the person I worked with via chat found another workaround, which is to remove slide transitions on the affected slides. This does work and it is quicker to apply than my fix. Also, in my particular project, there was no downside to removing the slide transitions. The elements themselves have their own transitions (just fades), so you don't notice the lack of fade on the slide itself.

Hi Kelly! I am having also having issues with my captions and all of the threads seem to be a least a year old. When I open my Articulate 360 app, there are no updates listed. I created a training using AI audio from Wellsaid and imported it. I created a training with this same method a month ago and the captions worked fine. Any advice would be appreciated! I am not able to share the file because of NDA, but the captions are selected in the player.
Hi Jodi!
Sorry to hear you're having issues with closed captions from your Storyline course!
Can you share more details on the specific behavior you've encountered? Are closed captions absent when previewing the course, as well as after publishing?
If you've confirmed that you are working locally, and a repair of your Storyline installation doesn't do the trick, it would be helpful to see a copy of the file that's giving you trouble. Or a screen recording of the issue. If you'd prefer to share that privately, please do so through a support case. Our support engineers are willing to sign NDAs as well.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
