Timeline scrub???

Hm, I'm able to just click and keep holding my mouse as I drag over the others. I use a real mouse, not a touch pad - although doubt that would make a difference? 

As far as the design, I'm not a UX designer nor on our product development team, so I wouldn't want to weigh in on the why regarding design. I will share the information here in the form of a feature request with our Product team about how it's difficulty for you and others to work with this set up. 

As far as the playback lag, that is something we've shared with our team in the form of a bug report and although there have been incremental improvements with recent updates of Storyline it's still an outstanding issue that they continue to investigate. I'll be sure this thread is included in that report so that I can update you here once there is additional information to share from our team. 

Ditto to everything Ian said.  I put in a feature request today to allow us to scrub the timeline.  As Ian states this is BASIC and has been requested for at least 3 years.  SUPER frustrating that this isn't a possibility - trying to preview the slide and go back to sync up is incredibly inaccurate and inefficient.  This alone makes me want to pursue other software if I need to sync a timeline.

And to follow up...

IF a user is relegated to SHOW/HIDE to see what they're working on.... AT LEAST allow for continuous click motion along the SHOW/HIDE icons!

Come on already! This is grade school UI stuff. What a waste of editing time.

Thanks for reaching out here, and it looks like you're new in the community, so welcome to E-Learning Heroes! 

If you're looking to preview a slide and see the realtime updates, I'd recommend using the Preview button in the top ribbon and choosing to just preview that slide. I know that can be difficult if trying to then sync particular elements on the slide with other timeline items such as audio or appearance of objects, and that feedback is something we've shared with our Product development team and our QA team. You're also invited to share feedback with our team using our Feature request form here. 

As far as selecting to show/hide more than one item at a time, I am able to click on the "eye" icon and drag up or down to be able to select/unselect more than one at a time. Is that what you meant by continuous click motion? 

Additionally if you need any other assistance, we're happy to assist here in the community forums where you'll get help from staff and other community members - but you're also free to reach out to our Support Engineers using this form as they're available 24/7.

I don't seem to have that same continuous click functionality.

Still, I can't understand why the "jumble" workspace is a preferred programing choice over a "momentary" workspace, or at least offering the option to choose between the two editing "styles". Any feedback on that would be appreciated. Maybe I am missing some important rationale.

I encourage, with gravity, the inclusion of such a very very standard feature in further developed versions. Currently one has to work four times as hard to accomplish the same task. By "hiding" all unwanted objects, then blindly syncing the intended ones, then previewing, then unhiding the other objects, then previewing again... and that's only if the sync worked! Multiply that by three or four and you have >12x inefficiency.

I hope this makes sense.

Furthermore, I am regularly experiencing a playback lag between the time I hit play and the moment it starts playing. Similarly lag occurs when "too much editing" has been going on. Is this to be expected...Tolerated?

Running Windows 10 (64) on 8 gig memory and 4 core intel processor, SSD drive. Don't think it's the computer.

Thanks for reaching out here and in a couple other discussions. I am sorry that the behavior of the seekbar and the timeline scrubbing doesn't meet your needs. Thank you for sending that feedback to our team as a feature request though! 

Ditto from me too.... I am dismayed to continuously come across posts like this, that are several years old - askng for basic functionality - and yet not getting implemented into this software. Can you also provide an update on the promised 360 image support that was promised for the end of 2020????

Thanks for following up. Regarding 360 image support, I know we initially shared a targeted release by the end of 2020, but as folks worked through beta testing, it's caused us to rework some plans, and we've had to push the release date back.

I'm sorry for the delay, but we're actively working on the feedback shared so far and will be sure to announce when it's finally ready.

When you say you are working on feedback, exactly what do you mean? Would it be possible to at least release the beta - so we can see what you have done so far? To be honest, I am amazed that this feature is not already included, given the length of time that people have been asking for it - as well as the fact that your competitors have included this functionality for quite some time now.   Considering it was promised at the end of last year - I think it would not be unreasonable for an official announcement as to when we might finally get to see it? The current list of new features on your "roadmap" is pretty scant at best - I look forward to hearing from you. 

oh, and you made no mention of the 4 year old request for a timeline scrub?
