Cannot place annotations on .flv or .mp4 videos

Apr 13, 2011

Hi,

I am trying to annotate slides that contain video clips.  Whenever I try to start annotation in add annotation (or start recording in narration mode), the video starts and stops almost immediately.  I've tried adding silence in audio mode, but it seems to get overridden when I try to annotate or narrate.  Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong?

Thanks,

John

Hi John,

Adding silence in audio mode may not work for you.  You will probably need to create an actual silent audio file in Audacity or some other program that is the length of the video and then insert it as you would with a regular audio file.  Adding silence in the audio editor doesn't actually create an audio file when there is no audio there already.

Good Afternoon Tim, and welcome to Heroes!

Is this a course-specific issue, or is this something that you can reproduce across multiple courses?

If the problem is course-specific, I would recommend creating an Articulate package of your course, and then uploading the zip file via a support case so that we can take a look.

If the problem is reproducible on all courses, that seems like a larger issue, and Support can help with that as well.

Please let us know if you need anything else.  Thanks!
