New company powerpoint look how do I change in Engage

Apr 01, 2013

Hi there!

I am new to articulate - so i appreciate any and all advice!  I have two big questions right now.

I am working with older courses and our company has changed its colours - I was able to incorporate the new PowerPoint look and feel into presenter, but the old look and feel is part of engage - how do  i update Engage to reflect our new look?

We have presenter right now with three licences and would like some advice on moving our older presenter content to Storyline and how it affects the presenter, engage files.  Will this be an easy transition?

Cost of Storyline?

How will this impact our current users of presenter?

Benefits of using Storyline vs. presenter, engage, quizmaker?

Negatives of moving to storyline?

Thanks for all your advice!

Hi Leona!

  • "I am working with older courses and our company has changed its colours - I was able to incorporate the new PowerPoint look and feel into presenter, but the old look and feel is part of engage - how do  i update Engage to reflect our new look?"

If you're wanting to update the Engage colors, you'll want to open and modify those colors within Engage. If you have access to Presenter and Engage, then you shouldn't have any trouble modifying these interactions. When you have your presentation open, select the slide that contains the Engage interaction. Select the option to "Edit in Engage".

For more information on customizing your Engage interaction colors, take a look a the following tutorial:

Importing PowerPoint content into Storyline is not an exact one-to-one conversion. As a result, text may look a bit different. And although most features in PowerPoint and Articulate Presenter are supported in Storyline, some are not.

Here are some things to consider when importing PowerPoint into Storyline

  • Cost of Storyline?

You're always welcome to contact our Sales department for pricing information. I would suggest doing this, simply because you're transitioning from one Articulate product to another. Since this is the case, maybe our Sales team can work with you on pricing.

  • How will this impact our current users of presenter?

Your users may notice a difference in between the two players and some of the features, but unless they know the software, they may not even realize there's been a change. The only thing I would suggest here is that you keep the minimum requirements in mind when distributing Storyline courses for learners.

Articulate Support - System requirements for Storyline (Viewing Content section applies to learners/viewers)

I'm afraid I can't give you any negatives about moving over to Storyline. However, there have been a few discussions on Storyline versus Presenter in the past. You may want to take a look around the forums and read a few of these threads. However, it really comes down to you. Which do you think you'd prefer working with? If you haven't already, you can always take advantage of the 30 day free trial for Storyline, just to make sure it suits your needs.

I hope this helps, Leona! Please let me know if you have any questions.

Christine
