Jun 28, 2012

I currently use Presenter '09 and would like to know if there will be an update that will allow for HTML5 output.

Hi John!

Publishing to HTML5 will definitely be included in Studio '12It's currently in development and will soon enter beta testing. We do not have a confirmed launch date at this time. If you'd like to participate in the beta, please send your request to beta@articulate.com, and the beta administrator will contact you with instructions.

We just purchased 5 licenses for Articulate 09. What options might exist for when you do release Studio 12. We are also planning on purchasing Storyline as well (love it so far) but we'll probably want to have Studio as well and I'd hate to think we'd have to pay the full price a second time. Thanks and keep up the great work at Articulate.

Hey Jesse!

Upgrade pricing is 50% of the full license prices. You can also email our sales team atsales@Articulate.comif you want to consider adding the Platinum Membership Plan to your recent purchase for even less, because then you'd get Studio '12 for free. And the volume discount you got on Studio (5 licenses) would apply to the PMP, but not to upgrade pricing. Does that sound good? If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email the sales team (sales@Articulate.com). Thanks!

Is there any reason to think that publishing a project from Storyline is any different from publishing from Studio?  I currently use Studio '09 and would like to purchase Storyline but my IT person wants me to publish a Storyline sample before I proceed.  I downloaded the trial, created a brief presentation and tried to publish it but one of two things happened; one the content folders are empty or two; the trial program quits.

Below is the output from one of my Articulate Studio modules. In particular the "viewed" is important to me because this data is included even when I track using the quiz results.  When I publish the Storyline module, this "viewed" data is not included - is there a reason for this?  Being able to track the slides viewed and quiz results is important to me.

Hello again, John.

I'm not sure if Jamie has had the opportunity to fill out our Feature Request form or not yet, but this is how our Engineers gather formal input from our users.  The form submits right to them and allows them to weigh the importance of one feature against another.  This is why I say:  The more the merrier!

As for what changed and why, I'm no Developer, so I can't really speak to why a specific function of Studio isn't present in Storyline.  I do know that Storyline and Studio are very different products and that Storyline was build from the ground-up--it's not a Studio upgrade.  I could be wrong, but I don't envision that we actively made the decision to yank a feature that was built into Studio.

If you ever find that Storyline is missing an important function, please do submit a Feature Request--we love 'em!
