change variable results.passpoint

Jan 10, 2020

I feel like an idiot, but I cannot change the variable results.passpoint or results.scorepoints.

I downloaded a quiz from here that was working fine with a couple of questions. I changed it up a bit and added more questions to make a total of 12, and cannot change the results.passpoint to include the new total which means that people can pass the quiz with correct answers for only a couple of questions and not 80% of the 12. When I go into the Variables, it won't let me "Edit the selected variable" for any of the results items. I have no idea how to fix this so it takes the new number of questions into account. The download was the Fun_Quiz-v2.story.....

Please, can someone tell me how I can change this? I've been struggling for a couple of days and am ready to give up.

I forgot to add that I've tried to change the results page to calculate the results using the TotalPoints variable, but it keeps auto-changing back to the results.passpoint variable and I don't know how to stop it from doing that either.

It looks like your Results slide does not include the questions from the question bank. On the Results slide, click Edit Result Slide above the Triggers panel and select the Draw from Fun Quiz. Not sure if you need the Pick One selected as well.

As a note, you can't edit any of the built-in variables, which is probably why you're having trouble!

No change.  If you only get three correct, it shows the unsuccessful layer. If you get four correct, it shows the successful layer. I haven't been able to find where or how to change that.....

Sorry, I'm not trying to be negative. I've got it open and have been making the changes you suggest as we go along....

No problem at all, I don't think I was going through enough questions to see the proper functionality.

We did run into a similar issue actually but with timed quizzes. Basically, if a quiz times out and there are still unanswered questions, those unanswered questions will be marked correct. There's been some discussion going on this for a while:

I'm wondering if the same thing is happened here. If you get one wrong question partway through the quiz, you won't see the rest of the questions, but they will still be marked correct.

One workaround would be to add a variable to each Correct layer, then set up the variables on the Results slide so that they reflect the percentage you want and reveal the appropriate success/failure slide. Kind of a poor workaround, but if it's anything like I've experienced, there is still no fix.

I think I tried this. If you look at the Pick Squares slide, I added a count and a variable (Add 1 to TotalSquares when user clicks); this works great and the correct layers show once you change the trigger on the results slide. However, the file keeps resetting back to the results.passpoints, and I am assuming this is the default and won't accept the TotalSquares variable as the counter. So, it can get it to work in preview when I change the trigger, but the trigger doesn't hold and once I exit the preview, it changes back to the results.passpoints trigger.

Aaaagggghhhh!!!!

So.... I tried that.  I tried adding the TotalPoints AND the PassPoints and it held for one preview test but it just showed the base layer and neither the success nor failure layer. I then tried just the TotalPoints, and it held for one preview test. Once I tried it a second time, the setting had returned to simply PassPoints again. How can I stop this from defaulting back?
