Hi there ... here's my problem. I'm trying to publish to video from Storyline and am experiencing flashes or glitches during animations. I've looked at the troubleshooting checklist and have moved all my files onto the C drive on the Parallels side of my Mac. It's not the graphics that are misbehaving, rather the embedded icons and words that are flashing as they animate. What have I done wrong? Here's one of the files.
I am glad to hear that installing a previous version of Storyline helped! While I don't have an ETA to share, our team is actively investigating the issue. I will be sure to add your comments to our report, and we will reach back out with an update as soon as we can!
We just had to publish our video with the flickering. It looks very unprofessional and I tried all of the helps that the the support staff provided without a resolution to the issue. There is nothing more I can do on my end to make our video look great. I hope that this gets fixed soon. Regards!
Hi, I wanted to roll back due to this issue and this version doesn't seem to help either. I have a very short mp4 that won't even preview properly. Sticking and not presentable.
I experience the same issue when publishing video from Storyline; the resulting mp4 flickers, each time I republished different area flickers. both in 1080p HD and 720p HD.
Hello, I would like to chime in here. We experience the same glitches, especially when we publish the slides to videos. They are typical "digital" glitches. Publishing in any other quality but 1080p is out of the question.
I see from two posts below that Ellen Kupp writes that this is an issue that must have occurred since the January software update, and further down that Heinee Hinrichsen has tried rolling back. I am reluctant to do any rollback whatsoever.
As Doug Kipta writes further down in this thread, it is especially the wipe animation, but also the fade. These are the two I use the most.
I installed the latest sw update today (July 27, at 8AM CET -1).
Is the issue resolved or will it be? We do LOTS of line animations, and it is pretty annoying for us as well as the client. It does indeed look very unprofessional.
My solution thus far has been to make pauses between the animation and some of the sections. While this works most of the time (not every time), it makes the courses static and I lose the flow.
I reverted back to version 3.3621289 because of this video flickering issue but I wanted to keep the functionality of being able to copy and paste multiple triggers hence chose this version. However, the problem with this version is that, it wont allow you to move the seek bar after publishing and accessing it through IE 11. I just published the course using review360 and it doesnt allow you to move the seek bar if you are opening it through IE 11 but it does work using chrome and ms edge. I saw another discussion around this and the temporary workaround is to make sure to apply the seekbar to all slides which doesn't make sense to me as some slides do not really require a seek bar. Which version should I revert back with no issue on flickering vidoes, no IE 11 issue on seek bar but still able to copy multiple triggers? Also I need to mention that my work network doesnt allow me to install/uninstall without an IT person/admin logging in to my machine, so it does help me save time to get the correct version on the first try. TIA!
I'm sorry to hear that you're facing some flickering.
Are you experiencing the problem in Storyline 360 Update 44? We released a fix for this then, but if it's not working right on your side, we'd love to jump in to help!
Thanks for reaching out in this discussion as well. Because you're experiencing the flickering in Update 45, this is a great opportunity for our Engineers to step in!
A support case confirmation with the info you've shared should be in your inbox now. If you could share an affected file privately, we'd love to review it:
we are facing the same issues of flickering in Articulate 3.11 23355 as described above. Is there a patch on the way and can you give us a distinct timeframe, when the problems will be resolved for Storyline 3? If you wish I can provide you with an example to further help your development team. We are quite happy with the overall performance and features storyline is providing, but when this problem occurs it really downgrades our course and we got some bad reviews recently, therefore I hope the problem might be already fixed or you can do so in an instant for articulate 3.
Hello Jannes and welcome to E-Learning Heroes π
Thank you for reaching out and sharing that you're having an issue in Storyline 3.
The original issues shared above were specific to publishing to video/mp4 format, which is not a feature of Storyline 3, so I'd like to understand what you may be experiencing. With your permission, I'd like you to share your project file with our support engineers to investigate what's happening. You can share it privately by uploading it here. It will be deleted when troubleshooting is complete.

Hello,
I encountered the same problem and reverting to version 3.36 21289 did solve the issue for me. Thank you for the tip.
I would like to know when the correction will be implemented in the line version?
Regards.

Try a previous version of SL. My gut says the video problems are because SL isnβt really a video builder. π

Hi All!
Thank you for helping us make this improvement!
Would taking out certain types of animations help? Having the same problem but will try roll back to nov as suggested above.
