Imported Storyline file to RISE appears different depending on which device it is viewed in.

Aug 09, 2023

I have only created courses in RISE 360 but wanted to start using Storyline 360 as well.  As a start, I have only created one slide which I wanted to see how it looks like when importing into RISE.

I have created the following "module" in Storyline: https://360.articulate.com/review/content/e5bc7fa2-9004-4e79-a1a7-a7ede5e8a7a2/review

However, when imported into RISE, it opens directly when viewing it on a computer. On a tablet, it needs to be "started" in order to open. When trying to viewing it on a mobile device, it does not open. See attached file to see the differences.

Why this difference?

Are there any settings you can make to make it look the same on a tablet as on a computer? Can it be viewed on a mobile device at all?

Hello Marianne Carlsson,

Happy to help!

The behavior you described with your embedded Storyline 360 block needing to be played is the expected behavior for mobile viewing.

For learners using a mobile device, they will see a play button on top of any Storyline block and tapping the play button will initiate the Storyline slide to play in the mobile browser.

Regarding the behavior with your embedded Storyline 360 block not opening when viewed on a mobile device, I'd like to ask a few questions to help clarify your experience:

  • Are you unable to play the block using either iOS or Android devices?
  • Are your mobile devices up-to-date?
  • Have you tried using different browser to see if the issue is specific to one browser?

If you're using up-to-date browsers and mobile devices to view the Storyline 360 block, please open a case with our support team here so we can request for a copy of your course for troubleshooting.
