Storyline iOS App issues with iOS 9 Beta

Sep 04, 2015

Good afternoon, everybody...

Being a registered Apple developer, we have access to the iOS 9 betas when they become available.  We have just updated one of our testing iPads with a beta and it now seems to stop the Storyline iOS app launching when a Storyline 2 course is run from our LMS.

Just wondered if anyone else had come across this?

Thanks,

Dave

Hi, Jeffrey -- Thanks for reaching out, and as I had experienced the same behavior Stephanie described but was not able to determine the root of the issue, I escalated the case to our Support Engineers on 10/20, and I see that Robert is working with you and your colleagues on this case. He sent an email this afternoon around noon that stated the following:

"Stephanie did a test yesterday where her published content was successfully uploaded to our tempshare server and viewed in an iPad with iOS 9.0.2. She was able to successfully see published contents from two different servers. At this point we are able to isolate the publishing issue.

In response to Torben’s email, Articulate published content has been working as is even before the update to iOS 9 came out and is still working as Stephanie has tested.

Kindly confirm the app that iPad users are using to view the content. If you can also provide a URL from your LMS that I can test, that will be appreciated."

Please reach out to him with your response at your earliest convenience, and we will continue to work hard to assist you further. :)

Hello I am running version 9.1 on my IPad and need to know if there will be an update soon? I use the courses I developed for training purposes and I have ipads I need to distribute. I downloaded the current version of the app as well and every time I go to launch the course I get asked to download the app. I know there have been many comments and reviews stating everyone is having issues. I do not mind waiting, I just wanted to explain what I have done and to show I am taking all possible steps. I hope everyone has a good day!

Hi Jacquelin,

Did you already install the latest update to Storyline or run the updater? you can read more about that here.

We don't offer links to previous downloads of any of our earlier releases, as each one has included bug fixes or updated issues. If there is something specific you need it's best to discuss that directly with our Support engineers and they'll be able to determine next steps based on your specific situation.

Hello, yes I did update the articulate mobile player app. I have the most
current version running on my ipad version 3.25. The ipad is running the
latest IOS. I dont have any issues with the course playing in the desktop
browser. I just need the link to work when I place it in safari. I have
been trouble shooting this and the results is that the latest IOS is not
compatible with articulate 3.25 and therefore it will not open. It will
only prompt me to download the latest articulate mobile player app. I have
not updated to the newest version of the storyline2, do I need to update in
order to export for viewable on the web? It was working well before the
update?

Hi Jacqueline,

Sorry for not clearly stating - I mean the Storyline update, to republish the course using the latest update. That fixes the issue that you're seeing.

Also, just an FYI that responding via email includes your signature here so you may want to look at editing the post to remove that information if you don't want it out publicly.
