I have a surface pro 3 and plan on updating to Windows 10 as soon at the public release is available. Has it been confirmed that Storyline will work properly on Windows 10?
I am primarily a mac user so haven't gone through a windows upgrade cycle in quite some time.
Very interested in any replies to this thread. I can hardly wait for Win 10, and despise Win 8.1 with a passion. I've got Win 8.1 right up there (and I use the term loosely) with Win ME. I too am looking to upgrade as soon as I possibly can, and hope I won't have any Storyline 2 headaches after doing so.
Just upgraded to windows 10 and Storyline is no longer working!
It pops up a message box with one line in it saying something like UIwindowsvista11. All I can do is close the window. Then SL says I need to enter my serial number, however when I do SL says it isn't valid.
I'm going to uninstall SL, re-download and see if that fixes things.
I have installed Windows two days and then Storyline 2.0 (using the latest 6th update) last evening.
This morning, with the featured option of resuming back to Windows 8.0, I managed to resume to Windows in 20 minutes. (Storyline performance is back to normal now).
Why?
Because even though I like Windows 10, many of my Storyline works, filled with animation, are affected with much slower PC and Storyline response and unstable animation (feels like all of a sudden, PC is in lack of RAM). Storyline has been my day and night's wooking tool, so maybe I'll prefer to wait a little while.
Just for clarity SL1 & SL2 seem to be working fine using Windows 10.
Only caveat is that SL2 had to be uninstalled and reinstalled to get it working. After that was sorted, I opened up SL1 to test ( I rarely use it). It opened with no issues.
Does it mean that some objects or interactions won't work properly? If so, is there a list of these types of things?
I'd like to be able to explain to clients and colleagues what the impact is if they move to Windows 10. Particularly if they are in an environment where they can't control which software version someone taking the course/lesson is running (such as a BYOD environment or like a university where they are dealing with students who all have their own laptops)
I guess this also brings up a bigger question on the Storyline 1 roadmap - is there an end-of-life strategy for Storyline 1?
It means that I can't offer any support related guidance or assistance if something in Storyline 1 is not working and you're using it within Windows 10. I know a few users have mentioned it worked fine for them - and that's always great news to hear. That level of support is directed at the authoring within the product
I am using a 30 day trial of SL2. I had a full license of SL1 & 2 at work and have been using SL1 for several years. I just published a short demo course (4 slides) with embedded YouTube videos (no, they don't run on Google/Chrome browser) and an embedded fillable form. When I asked my husband to test the published version (published for web), he couldn't get the video or fillable form to work in ANY browser - he just upgraded to Windows 10. When I ran it on my Vista laptop they (video and form) worked fine in IE and Firefox. Looks like Articulate has some work to do for Windows 10. I verified with him that we were both using the same versions of IE and Firefox, so those 2 browsers were the same.
I just upgraded myself to Windows 10 as well and haven't run into any issues with published content or working in Storyline 2. Did you share the published output folder with your husband or send along the link to where it was uploaded in a server? Testing it locally could be what is causing elements to not run as expected and you'll see this described here a bit further with a few options for testing options.
This is my second time writing my experience of Windows 10 upgrade.
Again, just like last time, though I have been very eager to switch from my Windows 8.1 to Windows 10, I am posting this experience after running issues of Articulate 2.0 (and after compelled by Microsoft's daily reminder to switch to Windows 10).
Unlike 3 weeks ago, I cannot deny that Storyline 2.0 can be run in Windows 10 and everything seems normal, such as creating new projects, editing, preview and even "publishing". Guess there is an update from Microsoft Windows 10 first release.
It is until when I re-edited my Storyline work and attempted to "update" or "replace" my work in the Moodle system using the export form of SCORM 1.2 and realized that it does not work. Forgot the exact message, and consistently in three attempts, it says absence of certain elements and AICC.
I switched back to Windows 8.1 and re-uploaded my work in Moodle site. Everything is smooth now.
Thanks for reaching out here. I haven't run into any issues with publishing or uploading yet in Windows 10 - but you mentioned publishing for SCORM 1.2 and an error message about AICC - since those are two different publishing choices, I'd look at confirming how it's behaves in SCORM Cloud vs. Moodle. Also if you continue to see the behavior can you share a copy of the .story file here with us?
Hi Ashley,
The HTML file output and in zip file format (worked under Windows) 10 is
34MB. I was about to delete it as I have returned to Windows 8.1. How would
you like to have it transferred as I don't think email can accommodate such
a file size.

Hi Justin and Alex!
Good news! You can author and view Articulate Storyline 2 courses on Windows 10 computers. See this article for more information.

Yes, please let us know Andy.
Yep, that fixed it!
Glad to hear it and thank you for the update :)
I have Storyline 1 is that also supported? I've only seen posts specifically referencing Storyline 2 and I don't have that as of yet...
This posting indicates Storyline 1 isn't supported.

Hi Andy
Would that be SL 2? Thanks
Sampath
Hi Sampath,
You may see that error message when upgrading Storyline 2 and Windows 10 - and it's detailed here on how to fix it.
Thank you.
Hi Sampath
Yes it's SL2.
Windows 10 can run ST2

Hi Andy,
It may work - but Storyline 1 is not officially supported as detailed here.
Thanks Andy. I will upgrade to 10 and test on one machine.
Hi Ashley,
So what does "not officially supported" mean?
Does it mean that some objects or interactions won't work properly? If so, is there a list of these types of things?

The published courses are not supported in the new Windows Edge browser, but if the users are viewing them in another browser as a part of supported system here than it should work as expected.

Hi,
I upgraded to Windows 10 about 2 weeks ago with Parallels Desktop 11 on iMac. SL2 works like a charm and pretty faster than on W 8.1.
