Hello Everyone!
I'm happy to share that we have released Storyline 360 version 72 (Build 3.72.29654.0).
Included in this release is a new feature where you can let learners explore at their own pace by choosing a course playback speed between 0.25x and 2x.
Now all you need to do is update Storyline 360 in your Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.
Please let us know if you have any questions by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.
Have a great day!

This is awesome!!
AMAZING. I can't believe it, I'm so stoked to see this!
Thank you for sharing this, Scott! Great to hear!
This is music to my ears - the sound of me reading the development notes! Thank you Scott for sharing this and thank you to the Articulate team to give this feature a priority! We would love to do beta testing on this feature!

+1, submitted feature request -- need this feature to apply to all slide types, not just video
If it will change anything, I'm adding my vote to this request as well. I recently got a 4-star review of one of my courses and the feedback said it was only because my course couldn't provide this feature.
I just got a question about this too. Will you please add the option? Thank you!
I have also been asked for this feature in Storyline. Any updates on the progress of having this as an option? This is a great accessibility feature that is missing. Thank you!
Hi Amelia, and welcome to the E-Learning Heroes community!
Thank you for your feedback. I don't have an update just yet, but we'll be sure to let you know here when we have more to share!
Hi Team,
Has this feature been released?
Hello Developer 2,
The feature request for variable player playback speed is still in the works, but we'll definitely drop a message in this thread as soon as it is released! You can check out the status of features that are being worked on by visiting our roadmap here.
There are 3 issues here.
First, being able to slow playback is an important Accessibility feature found across most common player formats including YouTube and other video platforms. Many of my viewers are requesting this based on Accessibility needs. This issue in particular may at some point force me to change training platforms.
Second, the ability to speed and slow playback to meet student learning styles has been sited many times in feedback on my courses.
Third, many of my courses are viewed in offices around the world, where English is not their first or primary language. These folks have expressed significant need to slow the presentations down so they can better understand the narration.
Please make this a HIGH PRIORITY. I see this has been requested for over 5 years. I ask that you don't underestimate how important this feature is. Please feel free to contact me if you want to discuss this further.

I vote yes. My client has requested this and I'm unable to provide it.
Playback speed control has been a pretty standard feature for media streaming platforms for a while now. Users (including myself) have come to expect it as a way to "skim" content. I'd really like to see this added ASAP.
Good lords and ladies, the articulate gods have heard our cries. Course playback speed control has been in development for many a fortnight. God spede you all.
the browser support speed control for video/audio - so it is no problem for media streaming platforms to support this - this is the easy part
for a complete training with synched text, images, animation, transitions, trigger it's a complex challenge - all has to be in synch regardless of browser performance and desired playback speed
does anyone knows a learning system which does support speed control for the whole functionality ?
Your point makes very good sense, especially since you support multiple playback formats. Presumably this issue needs to be resolved separately for each supported platform.
FWIW, my work is internal and proprietary, so we only use the web page option when we publish. We cannot store data on an external (3rd party) platform. For my needs, having the playback speed resolved for the HTML output option would resolve 100% of my needs.
the feature is in development

but it needs time to do it right

Great to hear. I will test it right away. Curious now how it'll go if ios users will hear pitched sound 😬
This is great news. Thanks
Outstanding! We'll test it today.
Hi Luciana!
This is an awesome update! Do you know if it is possible to access the course playback speed Variable to manipulate using Triggers with different actions. For example, a custom button that adjusts the speed instead of using the standard button in the player?
I was testing this just now. It looks great so far!
