I am using Storyline 360 and publishing HTML5 only. My client uses Chrome only. Every image and all text is unacceptably blurry.
Attached is an image of a screen from the course. On the left is HTML5 in Chrome, and on the right is Flash. Even the "Next" button is blurry.
I see in other discussions that this is a known issue. What is the timeline for fixing this? I will no longer be able to support this client unless we can get a fix soon, as they are quite dissatisfied with the current state.
Our team is still investigating issues with blurry images/text in Chrome - so even if you have it set to 100% zoom or your screen resolution as such, it may still be blurry. We'll keep folks posted in this discussion as we have more details.
I'm experiencing the same issues when publishing to Review 360 and web. All text looks like it has lost quality and is slightly blurry. I have no animations on any screens, so the other discussion hasn't been helpful.
I am using chrome and I have the latest version of storyline 360.
We have tested the HTML5 output on IE, Safari, and Chrome and the only times we get quality issues is with Chrome. We are trying to determine if this is an HTML5, Chrome, or SL issue or a combination of one or more of those. We are in the middle of upgrading our LMS to Docebo, which only supports HTML5. Is this a SL3/SL360 issue or is it an issue outside of the authoring tool? The answer to this will help us determine if we will upgrade from SL2 to 3/360.
Dear Ashley, a few more details to help the diagnostic. I have no animations. I just opened a new project with only one slide with title and text content. When I type in text I can already see the text is blurred compared to what it used to be. Preview is very blurred, but the PREV and NEXT buttons seem not blurred. Published content is blurred in Chrome but looks normal in Edge. The same file opened with Storyline 3 looks OK, both in editing and in preview. I hope this helps.
Hi Pauline. The blurriness we're seeing is a combination of Chrome and Storyline. Our next update to Storyline 360 will add enhanced support to address the blurry issues we've seen in that browser. We'll let you know when the next version is available! Storyline 3 will get the same attention after the Storyline 360 update is released.
Thanks, Crystal! Much appreciated. If we upgrade to SL3 (not SL360) now, will we get a bug fix or should we hold off until the issue is resolved in SL3 and then upgrade?
I have exactly the same problem, as reported earlier. Operating System: Windows 10 Pro, Version 1809, OS Build 17763.379. Display setting 1920x1080, scaling 100%. I know you are working on this, and we all appreciate it. Is there any information about when to expect a fix? Or a workaround until the fix? I need to publish the courses by certain deadlines and the blur is blocking this. Thank you.
This is great news! I am hoping the update for SL3 will come soon as well since we are in the midst of republishing using SL3. The sooner the better but I can appreciate the steps needed to ensure compatibility and no problems with the patch. TY :)
I am having this issue with SL3 updating and existing course. I didn't notice it in my original course which was created in SL3 (but before the recent update).
Hello, Stephanie. The next update of Storyline 3 will include enhanced support for Google Chrome, including crisp-looking images and text. I don't have a timeline for the release yet, but this discussion is tagged to be updated!

Hello Mihai,
I just responded to a similar question here if you'd like to take a look and keep the conversation going in one place :)
Another info: Windows scaling is 100%

Also, if we upgrade to SL3 now will we have to republish all of our courses to fix the blurriness once the fix is available?
Hi Pauline,
Yes, you will get version updates to SL3 and yes, published courses will need to be re-published to take advantage of the updates.
Thanks, Leslie! Much appreciated.
Thanks for the image, Seth.
Would you mind sharing what Operating System you are using as well? I noticed a similar result on Windows 10.

Hey everybody. I'm excited to let you know that we just released update 26 for Storyline 360! Here are all the details.
We addressed an issue where text and images could be blurry when viewing a course in Google Chrome or Safari.
Here’s how you can update Storyline 360 to take advantage of everything the latest release has to offer. If you need more help, please let me know!
Of course it won't. Expect to wait like a year for this to get fixed in SL3.
Great news, Crystal! Thank you for fixing this, much appreciated.

Thanks for the positive vibes, all! This fix will be included in the next update of Storyline 3, and I don't have an ETA for that just yet.

Thanks for checking in, Seth. I'm sorry I don't have an update yet. We'll let you know when we have the next release for Storyline 3.
Also waiting for the SL3 update here!
This issue is resolved in Storyline 360 Version 3.26.18364.0

Does this issue also affect the viewing of videos in Chrome?
