Vancouver User Group

We've had a couple of meetings and I'm the keeper of the emails and lists, but would rather use a collaborative space. If you want to be part of our group, you can reply to this thread (or email me directly if you want: holly at sparkandco dot ca).
A group of us met this week and we shared some resources that I'd like to put up here.
- Creative Market - https://creativemarket.com/ they have weekly freebies and offer good bundles
- Mighty Deals - http://www.mightydeals.com/ daily deals on design stuff
- eLearning Art - http://www.elearningart.com/ selection of characters beyond the built-in (elearning brothers too http://elearningbrothers.com/) Lots more shared on the ELH site
- Printing a page - https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/to-print-a-slide-of-the-published-output-of-storyline
- Changing the report - http://www.articulate.com/support/quizmaker-09/how-to-create-certificates-by-customizing-the-reporthtml-file
I've proposed that we meet again the week of July 20th.

Hi Holly, is this group still active in Vancouver?
Hi Sepideh
We have not met for awhile, I'd love to try to coordinate something in October or November. Thanks for the nudge, I'll post any information here.
That would be wonderful! I'd be happy to assist in any way.
We have identified two possible upcoming dates to meet up at the UBC downtown location: Thursday November 1st or Monday, November 5th. Both would be "after work hours", e.g. 5 pm.
Let us know which you prefer and we'll go with majority. I'll post this as a new conversation too, just in case it gets lost!
Nov 5
Hi...I could probably do the 5th.
I am so interested to attend.
Thanks
Mikki

I am good with either dates.
I can do November 1st only. Thanks :)
Either date looks good for me (right now). Thanks for organizing!
Either date will work - thank you for organizing
I'm new to the E-learning community and am interested in attending. Thanks :)
Hi gang - Nov 1st is the date - 5:00 -7:30 pm at the Robson Square location (UBC building) where we have met in the past. We'll post the specifics (room and directions) before then.
If you've got a question you'd like help with, a feature you want to learn more about or a sample you want to demo, bring it along.
Looking forward to seeing you next month, feel free to share the details with others who might be interested.
Looking forward to it Holly! Thanks for setting this up.
I can't remember if this group only focuses on Storyline or if we can bring questions about Rise or other Articulate software.
Thanks.

Hi Janis - no limitation, we can talk about all products. Would love to see what you are doing with Rise!
Thanks Holly for setting this up.
I am using Rise and would love to see what other people are doing with it.
Also, ways in Storyline to have a slider.

By the way, did you hear that Blackboard is now using your College Network Access (CNA) credentials?

Looking forward to it Holly. I spread the word to another 10 or so developers in our workplace. See you on the 1st.
Would love to attend, but cannot on this one. I look forward to hearing of future meetings.
Holly, I have a SL3 course that uses lots of different techniques - if the group is interested I can do a short presentation.
Sounds great William! We'll look forward to that.
Hi all - we'll meet at C440 this Thursday. This classroom is on the Classroom level of Robson Square. Turn left at the bottom of the stairs and then a right turn down the first hallway. This classroom is halfway down that hallway.
See you on Thursday at 5.
ARGH! I thought that my calendar was clear so that I could finally attend one of these useful meetings but...I just received an email from my daughter's school reminding me of a grade 12 celebration. (I forgot!)
Hope to catch up next time. Thanks for organizing!!!
Thanks to William and Stephanie for sharing some of their project insights. It was great to see some new faces and share some project ideas and challenges. Hold the dates Thurs, Feb. 7th or Mon, Feb. 11th 2019 for our next meet-up. We'll of course share details closer to the date.
One of the examples that Stephanie showed was a flashlight interaction - someone asked about how that was done - there's some ideas in this (assuming it is still the same in SL 3/360): https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/how-to-add-highlight-or-spotlight-animation-in-storyline and if Stephanie has more insights, she'll post them here.
