Hi, I have a problem with the audio files on Rise 360. Sometimes the player doesn't work properly. It happens randomly and on different browsers. The player does not indicate the duration of the audio and the cursor does not move forward, the block is therefore not completed.
Why does it happen? How to solve the problem? Thank you!
I have the same problem. I am on Google Chrome and the sound doesn't play. I use storyline since many month and I didn't have any problem at all.
And now I discover Rise and it doesn't work... Strange beacause it works on my collegue's browser (Chrome too) but not on mine, and i always use Chrome for all, even for my LMS platform.
I try to play Rise on Internet explorer and it works... This is very strange.
Thank you for those details, Laurent. Can you please test these two links from Chrome on your Windows machine? Let me know if you can hear the audio in the lesson.
I've just encountered an issue where an audio file added to a RISE course, plays when it is previewed in RISE but won't play when published to a SCORM package and uploaded to SCORM cloud or the PeopleStreme LMS.
This is really embarrassing because it's always worked, so I didn't test in an LMS before our team published it to our staff.
The play button appears to depress but the file doesn't play and the progress indicator doesn't move.
Our staff use a combination of Android phones, iPads and PC's and we have multiple reports of the same issues. Before testing on an android device I did a quick test on our LMS using Windows 10 and Google Chrome (Fully up to date) and experienced the same issue.
I've generated a video file with the podcast I initially added as an audio file and added this to the course instead but it means the file is three times the size.
Does this mean that audio files should be avoided for now?
Hi Lionel, I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble with audio in Rise 360. Thanks for letting us know the file didn't play in SCORM Cloud—that's certainly a red flag. Would you be willing to share the audio file with our team so we can test it from our side?
Hi Alyssa, The strange thing is that the control seems to work sometimes and then other times it doesn't. I cleared my browser cache (I don't really use addons) but this didn't fix it. I have submitted a case with the audio file attached and with a link to the SCORM Cloud course. The case number is 02550209. I've gotten around this for now by turning this into a video file, using the thumbnail I had, and publishing a very low-resolution file.
I have a problem when I want to record an audio with Rise. I try to upload a file MP3 but I still have the following message : Something went wrong. Please try again or contact support if the problem persists.
I use Google Chrome. Version 86.0.4240.193 (Build officiel) (64 bits)
Hi Laurence, I'm sorry to hear you've run into problems uploading your MP3 file. There was a partial outage for uploading audio and video files in Rise, but the issue has been resolved. Let us know here if you still see this issue, and we'll take a closer look!
I had this issue with 2 audio files. They worked fine every where except my LMS. Turns out those files had an ampersand (&) in the file name and that kept them from playing.
Changed the file name and republished, reuploaded and everything was peachy.
I'm having a similar problem with an audio file in Rise 360. The audio file and transcript work fine within Rise, but when the SCORM file is published to our LMS the audio file disappears, as does the transcript.
The length of the clip is 1 min 11 secs, so not particularly lengthy. I raised this as a case yesterday (case number 03658301) and the person dealing with it came back and said they had no issues.
I've raised the query with our LMS provider and they got the clip to work, but then when they went back into it, it had disappeared and they suggested I needed to check the settings in Articulate - but there aren't any settings that can be changed. I have other audio clips in different lessons and they appear to be fine.
I have deleted the audio clip in Rise and re-uploaded it, along with the transcript again, but no change.
I am getting ready to launch the lesson, within a wider group of lessons, and need to resolve this plus another issue before that can be done.
I suggest troubleshooting your file in SCORM Cloud to check for the same behavior. SCORM Cloud is a free industry-standard testing engine that supports AICC, SCORM, Tin Can API (xAPI), and cmi5 content.
This tutorial demonstrates how to use SCORM Cloud with Articulate content.
If your course works properly in SCORM Cloud but not in your LMS, kindly share your SCORM Cloud findings with your LMS provider to troubleshoot the issue.
If the course encounters the same issues in SCORM Cloud, open a case with us here so that we can investigate.
i am writing to you because i have a problem with aritucalte rise. I have embedded a video with subtitles. As long as I edit and play it in edit mode, I can play back and forth in the player and jump to any point in the video I want. As soon as I watch the same rise course in review mode, I can no longer fast forward and rewind and I can only stop and play the video. This doesn't work in Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, which means the problem can't be with the browser. Here is a link to a sample course in which I cannot rewind and fast forward the video:
Your uploaded videos should allow for seeking/scrubbing as long as the Allow Forward Seeking setting is enabled.
If that setting is selected, yet you're still unable to scrub the video playback, please connect with our support engineers through a support case. They'd be happy to help troubleshoot the issue!

Hi, Claudia!
Rise 360 should accept most audio file types. If you run into this issue again, try deleting the audio block and adding a new block.
If that doesn't work, send the audio file to our team by opening a case, and we can test it from our side.
One more tip: be sure you're using one of these supported web browsers for the best authoring experience!

Hi there, Laurent. I will help, and I have a couple of questions:
Thanks!
Hi,
This is my chrome version : Version 81.0.4044.138 (Build officiel) (64 bits), on a windows 10 computer yes.
It happens when I preview a share work or even my own work (I did one for a test).
I uploaded it in the LMS, and it doesn't work when the course is hosted in tle LMS too.
Thank you for those details, Laurent. Can you please test these two links from Chrome on your Windows machine? Let me know if you can hear the audio in the lesson.
I'll be standing by!
well... It doesn't work on Chrome... but... it works on microsoft Edge... and I don't use the last one...
Thank you, Laurent. Can you please try to clear your cache in Chrome?
After you have cleared your cache, please try these two links again in Chrome:
Let me know how it goes!
OMG I found the problem!
I already cleared the cache before I asked help and I did it again but the problem was still there.
So I think that the problem didn't come from the browser but from app ou extension I linked with and which could have an effect on it.
And I found this extension I installed many month ago : Disable HTML5 Autoplay
So I remove it from Chrome and now all works nice!
Thank you for all the time you took to help me.
Have a nice day.
That is really great work, Laurent! And thank you for updating this discussion -- that will certainly anyone with a similar issue.

If that works for you, please attach the audio file to a case, and we'll take a look right away.
