Thanks, Yekaterina! I feel like we should should do more with screen simulations since it's one area that doesn't get a lot of attention. Glad to hear you like this example!
Is there a fix in the works to get the letter f to display in Review? I just finished a clinical course that had to recommend to nurses that you need to clean after every shiFt and bowel movement. We got a lot of giggles but It might be nice to have been able to read shift properly. ;)
@Lisa - Okay that is kind of funny. I was able to confirm that there aren't any issues with the letter "f" in Review. Most likely there's something wonky with your keyboard. If that's not the case, can you please open a ticket with you? Here's the link: http://www.articulatecase.com/
This is great David, thanks for sharing.
Is there an ideal story size for a project like this? I find that in this project and others with "form based" simulations the capture screen is a tad blurry.
Does anyone have thoughts?
Hi David, Sorry, can you help me, how i can insert the simulation in the same slide that the instructions? I try but the simulation appear in all slide
Woah! Thanks so much for the awesome feedback, everyone! I was traveling all week and totally missed your comments and questions. I'll follow up with each of you later today!
I am new to Articulate. Can someone share steps to replicate it? I am not very sure how one can add notepad for the demo as shown in the example.
Thanks
Hi David! I like this a lot. I have the same question as Luis. When I insert the step-by-step (try mode) it fills the whole screen and covers the notebook. Do you know what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!
Hi folks! Here's a quick tutorial on how I built this software simulation: https://community.articulate.com/articles/extending-slide-size-in-software-simulations/
Hi David, this link doesn't seem to work. I am only able to see the demo. Would love to see the video tutorial. This looks amazing and I am sure I can learn lots from the tutorial.
Hey Rachell! The demo above uses a Try mode for the simulation but you could use any of the three modes with this type of effect. The test mode probably isn't a good one to use with the effect since every click is recorded as a failed attempt. You could get around that with some extra hot spots and triggers but it's probably more work in that case. The try and show are good ones because they're designed to let the learner practice.
So glad I found this example. I need to create a simulation in a day and this inspired me. I don't hear talk about simulations through Storyline enough in my circles; but it's my favorite software and I refuse all things Captivate :-)
