Logo is Fuzzy

Nov 01, 2011

Hi

Hope you can help. I am wanting to put a company logo into the presentations I am recording but after some trial and error (mostly error) the logo is always fuzzy and not crisp as it when viewed separately. I have experimented with different formats (jpg, png, bmp) and using different sizes (varying from 240 x 240 pixels down to 100 x 100) but the results are always the same ( I am using the original file and not a copy) . The logo looks blurry round the edges and looks like a bad screen shot.

Are there any optimal settings/formats I should use?

Many thanks.

This logo issue has been ongoing for several years with no resolution (no pun intended).  This is not about resolution size or file type, there is a bug of some kind and there has been 0 movement to address it.  The only solution I have seen is to lock browser to optimal size but that is not an option we want to impose on viewers as it isn't full screen.

Hi Tim,

Any scaling of the course and player can cause images to appear blurry or fuzzy, as those will be scaled too. You'll see that noted here.  With that being said, it has been reported to our team to look into and look for ways to lock the image size of a logo in the player.  If you need a course to be display full screen, you may also want to look at the overall story size you've set and target the most common devices that your users will be viewing the course on.

Thanks for your message.  There are no issues with the images in the course itself, this is clearly specific to the player.  I used the same image for the logo on the splash screen at the beginning of course as in the logo in player.  It is razor sharp in the course and fuzzy in the player.  I have also tried the recommended pixel sizes, different graphic formats with no success.  There is something specific with the player that is causing this problem and targeting to common devices is also not an optimal solution as there is no consistency in use.  The bottom line here is that the player needs to be fixed instead of trying to do these workarounds.  I appreciate your message but this is a Articulate player software issue.

Hi all,

We released an update for Storyline 360 this AM, which fixed an issue where white lines could appear around slides and the logo might be blurry when a course scaled to fill the browser window.

Take a look at the details here to install the latest update.

Please let us know if you have any questions, either here or by reaching out to our Support Engineers directly.

Note: This fix is available for Storyline 360 and will be included in the next update/release of Storyline 3 - date TBD. We'll share information here once that's available.
