I am using the complete course when user clicks button trigger. But when we load it to the LMS nothing happens. I click the complete course button and it just stays on that last page. Doesn't even look like the button is being clicked. Anyone have this issue or know how to fix it?
I'm sorry - I should have called it the Complete button. I am tracking via complete course. It's just about done for this term now, but I'll be looking at re-publishing for the Fall term. For this term, I asked them to take a screenshot of the final certificate so that if their completion didn't transfer they could send me proof of completion and I could manually enter it.
So the learners click the Complete button, which sends the Completion status to the LMS? Does it also close the course window or is the learner responsible for doing that on their own? If it's closing the window as well (as an exit course trigger) could you look at delaying that trigger or assigning it to something else? That would ensure you've got enough time for the trigger to pass to the LMS (in the event a delay is happening).
Keep us posted when you're ready to republish and we can help again by taking a look at your files if needed. You can share those with our Support Team!
Add me to the list of people waiting on the Course Complete Trigger not sending completion to the LMS. I created an assessment that uses a variable based scoring system, so results slide completion is not an option, nor is slides viewed.
I too just came up against this. It appears to be a Chrome issue. I was able to complete some of the same courses with MS Edge that I could not with Chrome. Any update or workaround?
The change of C/I to P/I had no effect. It does appear to be a problem when using the 'Complete Course' trigger on 360 with the latest version of Chrome. The slide count and quiz results triggers function properly.
Can someone take a look at my file and help me out? I have it set up so that if the learner gets less than an 80% or if they answer specific questions incorrectly, they fail. For the specific questions, I set up branching so it takes them to an auto-fail slide. When they click "Exit Test" on that slide, it should reset the test so they get a zero and then submit the score of zero using the "Complete Course" trigger and mark the test as failed in the LMS. However, it's not registering as completed in the LMS. I'm not using the Incomplete/Fail status mentioned for the item that's not working above. If it is a problem with that trigger, is there a workaround I can use until it's fixed?
Reporting Passed or Incomplete: If learners don't pass, the course will report Incomplete.
Since you can choose to track either the quiz result or the course completion trigger, my suggestion is to remove the course completion trigger. Reroute learners to your results slide when they "auto-fail." You could even add another layer to the results slide that looks like your auto-fail message from Scene 2.
If you need them to auto-fail with a score of 0, reset the results from the incorrect feedback layer on the auto-fail slides. When you publish, change your reporting to Passed or Failed, since you want to record completion even if they fail. If supported by your LMS, look into using SCORM 2004 so you can reliably grab both the completion and the success statuses.
We have been working through this issue as well. We want to use a completion trigger but we notice that the option to set a complete course trigger is missing from our trigger tool. See screenshot. That option is also missing in the tracking settings when we go to publish. We are in Storyline 360. Are we missing something. Shouldn't we be able to track completion via a specific trigger?
Crystal: It appears that we are seeing the same issue on one of our LMS's where the Report status to LMS as is set to Completed/Incomplete and it is NOT sending the completion to the PeopleSoft LMS. This was also tested in SCORM Cloud and the completion IS being sent. We have another LMS (SuccessFactors) where the completion status is being sent accurately without issue so I am very interested in tracking this discussion to determine the root cause of the issue on our PeopleSoft LMS .
I am wondering, does it make a difference as to which launch file is being used on the LMS? For example, the index_lms.html vs. index_lms_flash.html vs. index_lms_html5.html launch file? We have developed a temporary work around to resolve this by not using the Storyline Course completion trigger and have reverted back to using a quiz completion status instead but I would sure like to be able to use the Course completion trigger instead since its fewer steps. Any further insights from you or others as to whether there is a fix? Thank you
Thanks, John, for those additional details and letting us know what troubleshooting you've done too. The course completion trigger appears to be the culprit within that LMS environment, and our team is continuing to look into it. If you have any files or logs that you can share with our Support Team, it will help to have more examples for testing!
For the launch file, I'd point to the index_lms.html as that file will be what is used by the browser to determine if the HTML5 or Flash output should load first. If you're only publishing for HTML5 only, you can still use the index_lms.html as the main file to point to.
After extensive testing, we have successfully used the Complete Course trigger to mark a course completed when the reporting is set to Complete/Incomplete in Chrome.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for each application. Details here.
I'm just wondering if a "quiz slide" is required in order for this "completion" trigger to work? I tried it with just a button and it did not work...however it did work when I put that same button a quiz slide.
As Phil states, you'll want to include the Course Completion trigger on your slide, as well as track the Course completion in your publish settings. This user guide will help with that!
It is probably worth testing the implications of selecting/deselecting the "Launch player in a new window (creates launch page)" in Player properties under Custom / "Other" page
We have just had a similar issue regarding the SL360 completion reporting into a Moodle 3.9.1 site where
it reported correctly when the "Launch player in a new window (creates launch page)" was not ticked but
failed when the "Launch player in a new window (creates launch page)" was ticked.

Just been told this is a known bug.........:
Hi Mark,
Thanks for contacting Articulate Support!
I'm sorry for the trouble you're experiencing. We have identified an issue where the course doesn't complete if player is set to launch in new window. I have included your case in the said bug report.
As a workaround, you need to disable the Launch Player in new window feature.
We resolved it by publishing the course out of SL 3 rather than SL360.
Thanks for contacting us and following up on this conversation.
It looks like we did miss providing an update here. This issue discussed here was corrected in Update 37.
Do you know what version of Storyline you're using?
You can check by going to: Help > About Articulate Storyline
We are currently on Build 3.41.22450.0 of Storyline 360. You can read all of the details here.

I can't tell what they're doing. When I ask them if they clicked the exit button, they always say YES, but I can't be certain.
Hi Rieta,
I wanted to share some information on how we define bugs and how we tackle them when they occur.
I do not have any additional information on time.
This conversation is attached and we will share any updates we have with you here.
Hi Jean,
Thanks for the additional information.
I can see that you've been a part of this conversation for some time now.
You originally mentioned that the issue was when using the Complete button, but you're now mentioning the Exit button.

Hey Jon and David,
So sorry you ran into this issue. For now, you can change the LMS reporting from Completed/Incomplete to Passed/Incomplete as a workaround.
Thanks for letting us know this is affecting your projects, and we'll be sure to update you as soon as we get a solution in place.
I think this may be on us. I think the latest Chrome update affected some custom scripts we have in place. Thanks for the feedback all the same.

Thanks for the update, David. Sorry that the workaround did not help you.
I'll add your findings to our report.

Hi Bailey! Thanks for sharing that detail and your .story file.
