Resources tab doesn't overlay
Feb 20, 2019
Hey guys
I'm in for a real puzzle. In the final round of our training module and when I publish to HTML5; the resources tab doesn't overlay.
I can see the button, but when I click it, the menu doesn't pull out OVER the slide, but rather under it so it's unclickable. You can see the sides behind the slide but it's unusable. I've attached a screenshot.
This is module 3 in a series, and I haven't had this problem in module 1 and 2. I'm doing everything exactly the same, the storyline is a copy and then edited some slides, of the first 2 modules.
I'm using storyline 3, have published to html5 only and am viewing in google chrome.
Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks in advance!

Indeed, only in chrome.
I am scrolling to the discussions and see indeed the same type of questions raised.
This one is the same question: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/menu-drops-behind-content-in-chrome-browser
and this one is also something I experienced: https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/modules-not-behaving-as-expected-in-google-chrome and https://community.articulate.com/discussions/articulate-storyline/buttons-on-layers-not-working-in-chrome-version-72-0-3626-109
So I'm keeping fingers crossed for a speedy update on sl3 as well :)
Hi Tiffany,
Thanks for letting us know what you're running into as well and this may be one we are still looking into.
With your permission, I'd like to take a look at your project file to investigate what's happening. You can share it publicly here, or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
Hi Leslie
I've uploaded it as you specified. thanks for keeping me updated!
Thanks, Tiffany.
Taking a look now and will reply back to you via e-mail via your support case.
I've had the same issue and I also noticed that it was only happening in Chrome 72 and not other browsers. It affected the resources tab as well as other objects on some of the slide. Resizing the window smaller makes everything appear as it's supposed to, so as a workaround I am forcing the course to open in a smaller window size. But hopefully this issue is fixed soon!
Hi Rory,
Thanks for letting us know that you are running into this issue as well.
This issue was corrected for Storyline 360 and will be included in the next update of Storyline 3 as well.

Great, glad to hear! Thanks for the update!
I also have this issue with Articulate Studio 360. Can the issue be fixed there as well?
Hi Pat,
We do have this issue reported for Studio 360 as well.
I'll add this conversation to the report so that we can share any updates with you here when we can.
Workaround: Set the player size to lock player at optimal size.
Hi everyone,
We just released an update for Studio 360, and included a few important fixes that you'll see in the release notes here.
The item you'll be interested in is:
The volume slider and the resources tab could appear behind slide content when the player scaled to fill the browser.
Just launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button for Studio 360. Details here.
