How to track specific slides that were visited.

I'm building a course that has career maps for employees.  They can explore job descriptions, promotion opportunities, etc.  My business partner wants to be able to track and see which jobs within the course are being visited the most by pulling a report from the LMS.

My first attempt was to make a hotspot that scored the slide as correct if the clicked it.  This gave me the report I needed, but unfortunately, there's other clickable content on the slide, and when they try to click on it, the system thinks they're 'answering' the hotspot interaction and jumps them back to the menu, or the next job in the sequence.

I thought I might be able to use variables, but I can't figure out how to get the variable to report to the LMS.  Any ideas out there?  We're using SCORM 2004, 4th edition.

Hi Frances, I think I may have been able to figure out a solution. It's a bit on the rustic side, so perhaps someone far more skilled than I can suggest something more elegant.

Essentially, you'll create variables for each visited slide and then a hidden quiz to be able to report out to the LMS, which of those variables has been incremented.
