Hi, everyone. We appreciate all your valuable feedback on 64-bit Storyline 360!
As of May 2024, this app is no longer in beta. You can still share your experience in this discussion or the feature request form.

May I suggest a different app icon? It would be nice to have both apps on the Windows taskbar and be able to distinguish between them.
- BillDaneCommunity Member
I second this request for a distinctly different icon for the taskbar.

Agree

And it only took...*checks notes*.....11 years to get here.
- DanielMcHugh-acCommunity Member
That is a long time for something as base as this. I wouldn’t exactly be giving a kudos but more a thanks for finally getting there. I do have to remember that articulate has and still is delivering one of the best products in the market.

Yeah. Windows has been 64-bit since 2006, so finally launching a 64-bit version 17 years later isn't really something to be proud of. Maybe there will finally be a Mac version of SL by 2035!

I agree with you. lol.

Yeah this is unbelievable.

Is this what's conflicting with the current Storyline 360 version because every time you do an update for the regular version (not the Beta) my courses change or break and I have to keep rebuilding my courses.
- RockHymasStaff
The 64-bit Storyline app shouldn't be causing that behavior Kelly. Your best bet will be to open a case with our support team here so we can take a closer look at what's happening.

Yeah, I'm having the same problem. A new module I'm building was working fine the day before and now it isn't. It has also effected all the old versions as well.

Hi there Kelly,
What was the outcome to this query? I found the same this week with one of my courses.
Cheers,
Landi

👍I for one is happy to see Storyline software dragged screaming into the Windows architecture from two decades ago :) Our projects tend to bloat with lots of videos, luckily with a minimum corruption and crashes, but this expanded memory will hopefully help on performance, i hope.

My files were definitely bloating for the same reasons so I started changing the way I work. Now instead of inserting the video files directly, I'm embedding them as web objects (I store them over on Wistia). I'm finding this so much better during dev, no more lagging/corrupt files and no more "bloating". Might be something to consider.

Any chance we can get the Storyline 360 64bit icon changed a little so we can identify easier which app we're opening a file in.
This is the "Open with" dialogue box with both versions of 360:

I am currently utilizing Storyline on a Mac equipped with an M2 chip, operating through Parallels. Would it be advisable to upgrade to the 64-bit version?
- MatthiasLohr-9dCommunity Member
Maybe it was naive to hope that the 64bit update would come with other improvements. Storyline looks and feels just as old as ever. No high DPI Mode for 4K & 5k Monitors. It looks like sh*t on a high res Display. And of course no Mac version.
I now try to avoid it as much as possible and only use it when someone explicitly requests Storyline for a course. Which fortunately happens less and less often.
Hello Matthias!
Your feedback is helpful and essential as this is just the initial beta version of Storyline 360 64-bit. Our Engineering team is continuing to monitor this discussion and will reach out with any follow-up questions on your requests.

It hasn't been 64-bit this entire time!?
- S-JBirchCommunity Member
No, 32-bit like it was 1988 :)
Frankly most software runs fine in 32-bit address space. But when you need lots of memory, 32-bit becomes a bit of a bottleneck
- DanielMcHugh-acCommunity Member
Absolutely! It is when i get up to 300, 400, 500 slides into an interactive graphic novel that you wish you had the 64 bit! Not an everyday event but it does happen.

The Record screen option is greyed out on the 64 bit App (Beta) for me
Hi Sharon!
Happy to help with this!
What you are experiencing is expected behavior. Currently, the screen recording feature is not available in 64-bit Storyline 360. However, it is in development!
As a workaround, I would suggest authoring in 32-bit Storyline 360 to create or edit your screen recordings.
I've linked this discussion to the feature report being tracked, so you can be notified as soon as we have updates to share.
