Flash Player 16 Issue
Dec 09, 2014
By
Brian Gil
Hi Everyone,
Adobe released Adobe Flash Player 16 on December 9, 2014 and, as a result, Articulate Storyline won’t open. Published content isn’t impacted.
We’re working fast and furiously to fix the issue and will release updates for Storyline 1 and Storyline 2 as soon as humanly possible.
Stay tuned,
Brian Gil
Head of Product Operations
*UPDATE* The issue has been resolved for Storyline 2 and Storyline 1. Please upgrade to the latest version of Storyline 2 or Storyline 1 as appropriate. Updates for other products are in progress.

It seems that the last project I was working on before the WIN updates resulted in a corruption of every audio file in the course. The audio files are there but never load. Resaved file, same thing. I've lost a day of revisions. Am I the only one this has happened to? What could have possibly gone wrong here?
Thanks for the update. Problem solved in a timely manner. Great support, much appreciated!
Is it possible for the person that designed this forum to add page totals?
e.g.
thanks for the prompt response and what a great community to belong to. A real hive mind working to find workable work arounds while you guys worked to patch the code. Thanks very much. Feels good to be here with such helpful supportive folks
I use storyline 1. Any news on when the fix can be expected?
It is the top priority so I’m confident that we’re looking at days, not weeks.
Days is better than weeks however I'm concerned by the plural to day. Especially given the SL2 fix is now out and the fix was not day's' from when the issue was found.
I do hope you are giving due attention to your clients who have not yet upgraded to SL2.
I have tried the workarounds and they have not worked for me (unfortunately). right now, for me, as every hour passes, I lose $ as I contract.. no work, no payment.
Absolutely understood. It's all hands on deck over here.
Thanks.
I agree with you Helen. I too am a contractor and therefore when I am not working I am not getting paid. It is rather frustrating that SL2 would get the first solution, as many of us who purchased SL1 do not have unlimited budgets and have not yet upgraded.
Wonder if we can back bill Articulate for the downtime on their product...
I agree. hahaha... I thought of billing back too....
I'd be willing to upgrade however my clients are not. As they need to be able to maintain the modules I build for them, I can't upgrade until they are ready. Kind of frustrating all aournd really. Let's hope the fix comes soon.
Best solution for me on Win 8.1 was removing update KB3008925
1. Control Panel
2. Programs and Features
3. View Installed updates (left side)
4. scroll to Microsoft Windows (header)
5. highlight - Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB3008925)
6. right-click - uninstall then reboot.
Thanks Robert. I've tried many fixes since this happened and yours has worked. Good to acknowledge it's the 'security update' you need to uninstall. I'm now back in which is great. Can't thank you enough. Thanks again.
Thanks Robert.... I've tried your solution and it's work :)
Hey Stephanie
Try the fix from Robert. It worked for me:

SL2 up and running again after update. SL1 still a problem
Removing update KB3008925 fixed the SL1-problem!
Thank you Dustin and everyone in here with comments related to uninstalling KB3008925 from my Control Panel. I was not impressed to see this issue due to tight deadlines -- thanks very much for this quick and easy solution.
Hi everyone,
I have a fix for this error.
Download the latest update for Storyline 2 from here:
https://www.articulate.com/downloads/storyline-2/
uninstall previous version of storyline 2, and update to the new update.
BOOM!
Problem solved.
You're welcome ;)

Lol, they actually updated the original post to share that :) Good catch though ;)
Haha, yes I saw that as soon as I posted it. Still I'm kinda like feeling awesome in solving it myself :P
Rightfully so ;-)
That's nice. Support the Storyline 2 population who is UNDOUBTEDLY much smaller than the version 1 pool. Way to show support to your long-standing existing customers. I have tried rolling back Flash to version 15 and Storyline is a brick.
Unfortunately, I am dead in the water. IT guys can't downgrade Flash (corporate policy).
