Create Fun, Custom Color Schemes in Engage ’13

Every designer wants to use an authoring tool that lets us customize the colors and fonts in our projects as much as possible. Luckily, with Engage ’13, it's easy to create a custom color scheme using the Create New Theme Colors panel. Here's how.

Create custom theme colors

Using this panel, you can customize nearly every aspect of the interaction, including background color, the header bar (which you can also remove altogether), buttons, highlights, and font colors.

The interactive preview panel on the right lets you see how your changes look as you set up your theme. Once you’ve customized your theme colors, give your scheme a name and close the panel. When you’re ready to use it again, simply pick it from the Colors drop-down menu.

Integrate your design into a Presenter ’13 course

It’s super easy to create an Engage ’13 interaction that will flow seamlessly with your Presenter ’13 courses. When you do this, it’s helpful to use a background color that is consistent with the background of the other slides in your course.

Additionally, you may want to consider getting rid of the header bar when you insert an Engage ’13 interaction. The header bar is a strong visual at the top of your slide, and removing it gives your Presenter ’13 course a more streamlined and cohesive look.

That’s how easy it is to edit your theme colors in Engage ’13! So no matter what your branding or corporate identity guidelines, you can create a look and feel that work for your organization. Like what you learned here? Follow Articulate on Twitter for more e-learning tips and tricks.
