Drop-down menus are a great way to hide information or links that don't always need to be displayed. Community members frequently wonder how to insert a drop-down menu into an Articulate Storyline project. Currently, there is no pre-built drop-down menu available in Storyline... but that didn't prevent our ingenios community members from coming up with a way to build one using layers and triggers–and I’m delighted to share their secret with you. 

If you have a lot of information to present to your learners, but don’t want to clutter the screen, consider building a drop-down menu.

First, create the drop-down menu options on their own individual layer. Then, add a trigger that shows the drop-down menu layer when you mouse over the menu option. And last, add a transparent rectangle behind your menu with a trigger to hide the drop-down menu layer when learners mouse over it.
